Elliot Lake Fellowship Baptist Church

Rev. Lloyd Lindsay BA, MTS

“I am a grateful follower of Jesus Christ and wish to become conformed to His image for the sake of others! By doing so, I desire to join Him in completing His mission of lovingly and compassionately bring others into faithful discipleship.”

Lloyd was born in Brantford, Ontario and accepted Jesus as his personal Savior at eight years old while attending a Good News Bible Club. He was baptized at First Baptist Church in that city at the age of thirteen.

Lloyd and his wife, Carol, have been married for 49 years. They have two married daughters and four grandchildren. Their niece, Anna, was killed in 2007 because of injuries sustained in a head-on collision caused by an impaired driver.

Over thirty-five years ago, Lloyd re-committed his life to Christ. Since that time, our Lord has led Lloyd on a spiritual journey that has brought personal healing, a love for His Word and a desire to care for His Church.

“My journey, as a grateful follower of Jesus, is no different than any person or group in the church with whom I may be engaged. I, like them, am in the process of being made in the image of Christ for the sake of others. My role as Pastor, flows from my own place of spirituality and must be tempered with self-awareness and humility.”

Lloyd is a sensitive, well organized individual who communicates well, both orally and in written form. He describes himself as flexible, entrepreneurial, able to think creatively. He has preaching and relationship building skills, and an aptitude for intuitive listening. Lloyd is able to compassionately empathize with others who are experiencing difficult circumstances.

Lloyd can communicate effectively across a full spectrum of age, ethnicity and gender and is sensitive to environments and situations that may not be safe or emotionally healthy. He attempts to bring positive intervention to such situations.

Final thoughts:

“Leadership does not divide, it unites; does not attack, but listens; doesn’t blame, but admits one’s limits’ does not draw attention to oneself but empowers others; sacrifices oneself for the sake of others; never dwells on other people’s past mistakes, but moves them toward the future. From such a place, Christ’s followers are nurtured and equipped to join Him in completing His ministry of reconciling the world to Himself.”
