Lloyd does not define himself in terms of what he does or has done but, rather by who he is – a grateful follower of Jesus Christ! He has pastored several churches and comes to Elliot Lake Fellowship Baptist from an Interim Pastor role at Queensway Baptist in Brantford. He began his Ministry here at ELFBC in Sept. 2023.
Formerly a career civil servant with the Ontario Government, business owner and entrepreneur, he is a graduate of the University of Guelph, the Pathways School of Ministry, and holds a Master’s degree in Theological Studies from McMaster Divinity College. Lloyd and his wife, Carol, have been married fifty- three years as of September 2023. They have two daughters and four grandchildren.
Lloyd is discovering daily how God continues His sixty-eight-year mission of restorative redemption in the ELFBC Community and the city of Elliot Lake. He is thrilled that God has called him to be part of that mission! His passion is to see joy-filled relationships fostered in such a way that the presence of God will shine through ELFBC. Thus, creating a safe place for seekers to find healing and peace in the person of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
His philosophy of Ministry could best be summed up as follows:
“Leadership does not divide, it unites; does not attack, but listens; doesn’t blame, but admits one’s limits’ does not draw attention to oneself but empowers others; sacrifices oneself for the sake of others; never dwells on other people’s past mistakes, but moves them toward the future. From such a place, Christ’s followers are nurtured and equipped to join Him in completing His ministry of reconciling the world to Himself.” ~Author Unknown~
Lloyd’s life verse is:
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Gal 2:20 [NIV)
